Optics was formerly called DFT (Digital Film Tools) and was acquired by Boris FX in 2019. The original development team behind DFT now works for Boris FX and has released a new, updated version called Boris FX Optics. For legacy DFT owners, beyond new features and improvements, Optics now adds many of the filters from the award-winning Sapphire video collection as well as Particle Illusion -- bringing top Hollywood feature film lighting effects and looks to Photoshop.
