How do I report a bug correctly?

In order to get to root of the issue quickly and provide an effective and quick bugfix, we would like to ask you to run through the following points and tips.

First find out, if your issue only happens in a single specific project, in multiple projects or also in new projects. If it only happens in specific projects, then find out what these projects have it common. If it only happens in a single project - what makes that project different to your other projects, where it does not happen? Based on your findings, bypass plugins one by one, disconnect external hardware controllers, simplify the routing and only use your main single display. Once you found the common factor, try to reproduce the issue in a new project.

Then try to reproduce it with default settings as well: go to help->"reset program settings to default".

Once the bug can be reproduced in a new project with default settings, please use the auto-update function to patch your software to the latest build version - take note of both build versions being used. Then make sure you're running the latest available plugin versions, if you're issue is plugin related. The same goes for hardware controllers, audio interfaces as well as graphics card drivers. Make sure, all of them are up to date. Reproduce the bug after each update.

Then try to isolate the bug to the smalles of amount of reproduction steps needed. Take note of all reproduction steps. If a step is not needed, leave it out.

Here is an example (Samplitude 2025, Build 25xxx):

  1. Create a new VIP (no template) with X amount of tracks

  2. Record, Edit or run specific programm function

  3. Insert or manipulate plugin XY

  4. Execute a specific funktion->Crash
