Why is Mocha Crashing on Mac?

Crashing can be for multiple reasons, usually related to hardware, drivers or specific setups.

If you are getting crashes in Mocha in macOS, check the following:

  • Open the crash report that macOS generates. If you see a large number of threads in the report, try going to Mocha preferences and turning on the “Maximum threads per thread pool” option under the System tab.
  • Under the GPU section of Mocha preferences, change “OpenCL Device” to your main graphics card.

In both cases, we recommend restarting Mocha after making this change, and you must restart the host if you are using a plugin.

If you are still getting crashes, we highly recommend filing a support issue: Submit A Request
