How do I troubleshoot an "Error code -6" or "Error code -59" when starting the program?

To solve the problem, carry out the following steps:

  1. Uninstall the software.
  2. Delete the "installation.ini" file.
  3. You can find the "installation.ini" file under C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Programname]\installation.ini

If you cannot see the "ProgramData" folder, carry out the following steps:

Go to "Folder options" in the Control Panel.
Under "View", under "Hidden files and folders", set the option to "Show all files and folders".
 

If you do not see the ".ini" file extension, you must have the file extensions displayed.
Windows hides these by default. 
 

You will also find the option "Hide extensions for known file types" under "View".
Deactivate this function to display all file extensions.
 

Then carry out a new installation of the software and any existing updates.
