How do I troubleshoot "Error code -1" during activation?

Error code -1 indicates possible network connection problems with the software.
The first recommendation is to reset Internet Explorer to its default settings.

If resetting the Internet Explorer settings does not solve the problem, the following steps can also be carried out:

  1. Open the "Control Panel" and click on "Internet Options" > "Advanced".
  2. Check whether all the TLS 1.0 to 1.2 checkboxes are ticked in the list. If this is not the case, check the boxes and click on "Apply".
  3. Click on "Administration" in the Control Panel.
  4. Double-click to open the services and search for "Intelligent background transfer service" in the list.
  5. Right-click on this service and select "Properties" in the context menu.
  6. Make sure that the "Start type" is set to "Automatic".

If necessary, please check your Internet connection and allow the connection attempt through your firewall or antivirus program.

Make sure that there is a direct Internet connection and that the connection is not made via a proxy or VPN connection.

If it still does not work, check in the Internet Explorer settings whether it is set to "Offline mode".
