Silhouette allows users to hide roto shapes with 0 opacity in the Viewer using a preference setting or a keyboard shortcut. This helps reduce visual clutter when working with complex roto setups.
Disable 0 opacity shapes using Silhouette preferences
Silhouette includes a preference called Fade Outline With Opacity Shape that controls the visibility of 0 opacity shapes.
When enabled:
Silhouette hides shapes with 0 opacity
Shapes remain visible if they are selected
The Viewer becomes less cluttered during roto work
By default, this preference is disabled, so 0 opacity shapes remain visible.
Toggle 0 opacity shape visibility using a shortcut
Silhouette provides a keyboard shortcut to quickly toggle visibility of 0 opacity shapes.
Press V to toggle 0 opacity shapes on or off
This shortcut works regardless of the Fade Outline With Opacity Shape preference setting.
When to hide 0 opacity shapes in Silhouette
Silhouette roto workflows may benefit from hiding 0 opacity shapes when:
Working with complex roto scenes
Cleaning up the Viewer for better visibility
Focusing only on active or visible shapes
Using these options helps improve clarity when working in the Silhouette Viewer.
